Uncle Nearest 1856 is a premium Tennessee whiskey that has garnered attention for its smoothness, complexity, and connection to the history of Nathan "Nearest" Green, one of the first African American master distillers. The whiskey itself is a tribute to Nearest Green, who is credited with teaching Jack Daniel the art of distilling, particularly his method of charcoal filtering, known as the Lincoln County Process, which is still used today in making Tennessee whiskey.
